This is an extremely interesting quote. I am a little unsure what is Mike Davis is trying to convey when he states, ” Paranoia about nature, of course, distracts attention from the obvious fact that LA has deliberately put itself in harm’s way.” I definitely agree with the second part of the quote when he states that our market driven economy has increased urbanization which is causing extremely detrimental environmental hazards. I definitely believe that people need to realize that the environment is not an infinite resource, and EVERYONE should do their part in contributing to a healthier and more sustainable planet.
